Possible Human Skull Found in Prince William Forest Park

No other remains have been located.

Runners on a Prince William Forest Park trail found a possible human skull on Sunday, Prince William County police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said. 

Police responded to the 17900 block of Joplin Road in Triangle Sunday at 1:28 p.m., after human remains were reportedly discovered in the area. 

No other remains besides the skull have so far been found. The skull was taken to the Medical Examiner's Office.

It has not yet been determined how old the skull is or why it was in the park.
