Police: Robber Stole Teen's Shoes, Arranged Meeting on Facebook

Saif Waheed Mirza, 19, of Woodbridge, was charged with robbery, malicious wounding and assault and battery. Police are still looking for a second accomplice.

Update: Police have clarified that only the robbery and assault and battery charges are in connection with this incident. Mirza was charged with robbery and malicious wounding in connection with a separate incident. A second suspect was also charged. 

A robber stole two pairs of shoes, worth $320, from a teenager that he met online, Prince William County Police said. 

Saif Waheed Mirza (a.k.a. John Gotti), 19, of Lodge Terrace in Woodbridge, was charged with robbery, malicious wounding and assault and battery. Police are also on the lookout for a second suspect. 

The 18-year-old male victim, of Woodbridge, reported that when he arranged to meet Mirza and another man on the 2200 block of Turnbuckle Lane in Woodbridge. He had met Mirza on Facebook and arranged to sell him two pairs of sneakers, worth $320. But instead of paying the victim, Mirza and the other man snatched the sneakers and tried to run away, police said.  

The victim then tried to grab the sneakers from Mirza, and they struggled. The second man then ran back and assaulted the teen. The two suspects fled the scene, while the victim sustained minor injuries. 

Mirza was arrested without incident on Nov. 16, police said. Officers are still searching for a man about 6'2" tall, black, 18-25 years old, around 180 pounds. The man was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, gray sneakers and blue jeans.
