Santa? Nope, It's a Crook In Botched Christmas Morning Burglary

It wasn't the Christmas visit from childhood storybooks, as homeowner scares off thief, according to Prince William County Police.

"When, what to my wondering eyes should appear…" Well, it wasn't a jolly old elf in Woodbridge on Christmas morning.

At 3:32 a.m. Dec. 25, Prince William County Police responded to a home on the 3500 block of Veronica Lane regarding an attempted burglary.

The homeowner told police that he was in the basement when he heard a noise coming from upstairs. Of course, he went to see what was the matter.

The homeowner told police there was an unknown man standing on the deck, but the suspect fled after being noticed.

The unsuccessful thief fled on foot, according to police. Apparently, no sleigh or eight tiny getaway drivers.

There was no description of the suspect. Nothing was taken from the home, or left underneath the tree for that matter.
