Series of Crashes on Interstate 95

At least one injured motorist flown to hospital, according to Virginia State Police.

A series of crashes on Interstate 95 on Thursday morning required an air lift for one injured motorist and delays on the busy route, according to the Virginia State Police.

Troopers responded to the first wreck at 8:13 a.m. in the southbound lanes between mile markers 150 and 152, south of Dumfries.

According to a VSP statement, the most serious crash occurred around 8:21 a.m. near the 150 mile marker.

One person was flown from the scene for treatment. 

Only one lane was open to traffic for more than an hour.
