Serious Crash During Evening Commute in Woodbridge

One person was transported to the hospital with injuries in Tuesday incident, according to Prince William County Police.

A two-vehicle crash sent one driver to the hospital Tuesday evening, according to Prince William County Police. A second driver had minor injuries.

Officers responded to the scene at 6:49 p.m. in the area of Jefferson Davis Highway and Mt. Pleasant Drive. 

According to police, the driver of a 2013 Nissan Sentra was heading south on Jefferson Davis and in the left turn lane to get onto Mt. Pleasant Drive. 

"The driver turned into the travel path of a 1998 Honda Accord traveling northbound on Jefferson Davis Highway," according to a PWC release. "The driver of the Honda Accord was not able to avoid a collision and struck the Nissan Sentra on passenger’s side of the vehicle."

The driver of the Nissan Sentra was transported to an unnamed area hospital.
