Police arrest 23-year-old man for sexual battery, investigate reckless handling of a gun and apprehend 0.6 ounces of marijuna

Man arrested for inappropriately touching girl 

German Enrique Canelas Najera, 23, of Dale City was arrested yesterday and charged with two counts of sexual battery and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor after he allegedly touch a 12-year-old Stafford girl inappropriately.

Police responded to La Gloria Church at 9:51 p.m. yesterday and arrested Najeraafter their investigation showed that he had inappropriately touched the girl on two separate occasions while attending church.

Najera is only a member of the church's congregation and was not in a custodial role with the girl.

Marijuana Charge

Raeshaun Jeffre Brown, 26, of Woodbridge was arrested on Nov. 2 after police found a suspicious vehicle in the 138000 block of Redstone Drive. Brown, occupant of the vehicle, was wanted by police on a grand larcency charge. After police detained him, a search yielded about 0.6 ounces of marijuana and a digital scale.

Brown is charged with possessionwith intent to distribute marijuana; the warrant for the grand larceny charge was previously served.

Reckless handling of firearm charge 

Prince William County police arrested a Woodbridge man after a homeowner at the 2300 block of Brookmoor Lane reported to police that she heard a loud noise in her residence on Nov. 1 but could not find anything suspicious. The next day, the homeowner found a small bullet hole behind her couch and then one in the man's door.

The man was charged with the reckless handling of a firearm and has a court date set for Dec. 12.

Update: Charges against the man were dismissed March 23, 2012.
