Suspects Charged in Sunoco Armed Robbery Investigation

The armed robbery involved the removal of the entire cash register drawer, Prince William County Police said.

Detectives have charged two suspects in an investigation into the armed robbery at the Sunoco Service Station on Annapolis Way in Woodbridge on Aug. 9.

Edward George Russell, 23, of no fixed address, was charged with robbery and the use of a firearm in commission of a felony. Tyron Donovan Best, 24, of Suitland, MD, was also charged with robbery and the use of a firearm in commission of a felony. Their court dates are unavailable and they are awaiting extradition.

Both suspects were arrested Nov. 26 by U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force members.

After the August incident, employees at the Sunoco told police that the two men entered the station around 7:12 p.m., and one of them came up to the counter to buy something. When the employee opened the register, the suspect pulled out a gun and removed the drawer, Prince William County Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said in a release.
