Police have charged four in an investigation into a Lake Ridge shooting and armed burglary, Prince William County Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said.
Roosevelt Singleton, 23, of DC, Ronnie Sawyer, 21, of Glen Arden, MD, and Casey Turbok, 20, of DC, were all charged with aggravated malicious wounding, burglary while armed, and conspiracy to commit a felony. Dejon Boyd, 19, of Woodbridge, was charged with possession of a stolen firearm.
The investigation found that the 27-year-old Woodbridge victim and Boyd were reportedly at Boyd's apartment on Meandering Way in Woodbridge when there was a knock at the front door, Perok said .
"Upon answering the door, the victim was confronted by a man, later identified as Roosevelt Singleton, who was armed with a handgun. A struggle ensued between the two men and during the encounter Singleton was shot multiple times. During the struggle, Boyd attempted to intervene and break up the fight but inadvertently struck the victim with a glass bottle to his head," Perok said. "After the encounter, Boyd and the victim were able to flee the residence where they encountered officers responding to the scene. Officers located Singleton and another suspect, Casey Turbok, on Smoketown Road."
Singleton and the victim were flown out for their injuries, which are considered not to be life-threatening.
Police found suspect Ronnie Sawyer and determined he had been involved.
"Sawyer had allegedly driven Singleton and Turbok to the apartment to confront Boyd over an ongoing dispute between Boyd and Turbok. A search warrant was subsequently executed at Boyd’s apartment," Perok said. "During the search, a stolen handgun was discovered. Following the investigation, charges were placed against the parties involved. The investigation continues."
All parties were arrested Oct. 17. Their court and bond dates are unavailable.
