Teen Charged with Strangulation

The victim was reportedly flown to an area hospital for a precaution.

A 17-year-old Woodbridge teen has been charged with strangulation after Prince William County police investigated a reported assault at Woodbridge Senior High School Wednesday.

Police responded to the school at 9:30 a.m. According to police reports, an investigation revealed that a 15-year-old Woodbridge male was "in a restroom within the school along with a group of others students, including the accused, a known acquaintance." 

"During the encounter, the accused became upset and placed his arm around the neck of the victim," police reports state. "The victim became limp, at which point, the accused dropped him to the floor causing the victim to hit his head on the concrete floor. The victim was flown to an area hospital as a precaution."

Following the investigation, the accused was subsequently charged and released to parents, police said.
