Teens Charged in Armed Robberies at Gas Station, Nail Salon

One of the teenagers shot at the owner of the nail salon, according to Prince William County Police.

Prince William County Police have charged five teenagers in the armed robberies at the VA Nails salon and the Exxon Service Station in Woodbridge, including a 17-year-old, who is accused of shooting at the nail salon owner.

Kawain Tyrell Smalls, 18, of Armstead Street in Woodbridge, Barionn Jaronzo Carter, 18, of Winston Street in Woodbridge, Diamonte Cordell Marbury, 19 of West Longview Drive in Woodbridge, and an unidentified 17-year-old Woodbridge male and 16-year-old Woodbridge male were all charged with robbery, in addition to other offenses.

Police said that Smalls and Carter acted as lookouts, while the two minors robbed the businesses.

Two unknown, masked men entered the salon on Jefferson Davis Highway the afternoon of July 7, and approached the counter. One of the men pulled out a gun, stole the cash register, and took other items from the customers, said police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok. They both fled on foot, and the owner chased after them.

The 17-year-old shot at the owner, who was not injured, Perok said. The following day, police identified the suspects in the case.

Employees at the Exxon Service Station on Old Bridge Road reported on June 9 at 11:21 p.m. that three masked men entered the business and approached the counter. One of the men showed a gun and demanded money, Perok said. The men stole an undisclosed amount of cash, a wallet and cell phone from a customer, then fled on foot.

All five were arrested on July 10 or 11, Perok said.
