Three Injured, Including Firefighter, in Fire in Lake Ridge

Eight people displaced in incident, according to Prince William County Fire and Rescue.

Three people were injured, including a firefighter, and eight people were displaced in a fire Monday evening in Lake Ridge.

Firefighters responded to a structure fire in the 3600 block of Eagle Rock Court at approximately 5 p.m., according to Kim Hylander, a spokesperson for Prince William County Fire and Rescue.

"Upon arriving on the scene, firefighters observed the fire had quickly spread from the basement of the home to the first floor," Hylander said.

Two residents were transported to a local medical facility for smoke inhalation, and one firefighter sustained minor injuries but did not require medical transport, she said.

Red Cross assisted the eight residents displaced, including three children.

The fire is currently under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office, Hylander said.

Residents in the home were alerted to the fire due to smoke alarms. "You double your chances of surviving a home fire with working smoke alarms compared to homes without working smoke alarms," Hylander said.
