Two Men Shot in Woodbridge Thursday Morning

Police to release arrest information later today.

UPDATE (July 21, 4:42 p.m.): Police have charged Emmanuel Christian Lugo, 25, of Montclair with two counts of aggravated malicious wounding and two counts of using a firearm in commission of a felony after Thursday morning's shooting.

The two gunshot victims, 21 and 22-year-olds from Woodbridge, were known acquaintances of Lugo's, said police. Perok said, "The accused apparently confronted the victim inside the restaurant, for an unknown reason, which turned physical. The altercation continued outside the restaurant in the parking lot where the accused displayed a handgun and shot, striking both victims."

Lugo was located at his residence in Montclair where a search warrant was executed. The two victims were transported to an area hospital, the 21-year-old sustained life threatening injuries as a result of the shooting. Perok said the other victim is expected to survive.

Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said that early Thursday morning two males were shot at K2 Restaurant off of Featherstone Plaza along Route 1.

Perok said that the injuries were non-life threatening and that an arrest has been made in the incident, which occured around 1:30 a.m.

Perok said that police plan to release more information about the incident later today.
