Two Woodbridge Men Arrested After Bar Fight in Fredericksburg

Two arrests were made for the early morning fight involving an employee and several subjects.

Two Woodbridge men were arrested after a bar fight in the City of Fredericksburg early Saturday morning.

A City of Fredericksburg police officer was assaulted at about 2 a.m. Saturday while responding for a fight involving an employee and several subjects at the Bourbon Room, the second floor bar of Cafe New Orleans in downtown Fredericksburg.

"While the officer was detaining one male subject who had punched a bouncer, the subject’s friend grabbed the officer from behind in a choke hold," said Natatia Bledsoe, Fredericksburg Police Department public information officer, in a press release.

The officer deployed O.C. spray (pepper spray) into the face of the second
assailant and took him into custody.

George Hayn, 31, of Woodbridge was arrested for assault on law enforcement and obstruction of justice and later incarcerated at the Rappahannock
Regional Jail under a $1500 bond, Bledsoe said.

While the officer was standing-by with Hayn outside the business, another individual kept screaming and attempting to interfere. The individual was identified as Eric Hunt, 25, of Woodbridge. He was arrested for public intoxication and on an outstanding warrant from Prince William County charging him with failure to appear in court, Bledsoe said.

The first assailant meanwhile fled from the scene, but left his identification behind.  The bouncer was advised how to obtain a warrant for assault against the patron.

The Fredericksburg Police Department provided this information.  Where an arrest is mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
