Update: Robbery in Foulgers Square False

Update to a Jan. 11 robbery case and two additional police reports. The following arrest information was supplied by the Prince William County police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Victim of Alleged Robbery and Assault Lied to Police

The man that originally told police he was

Police said Thomas Jerome Thurman, 34 of Woodbridge, had lied about the Jan. 11 robbery in the 13000 block of Foulgers Square. Thurman told police two unknown had assaulted him and took his wallet before fleeing the area.

Thursday, police said that Thurman was never robbed or assaulted. He is charged with filing a false police report and his court date and bond information are not available.

Rape:

Police arrested Juan Vicente Mancia-Sandoval, 55, Wednesday after a 12-year-old girl reported to police she had been raped by Mancia-Sandoval. 

Prince William County police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said that the girl reported that she had been raped sometime since Nov. 11, 2011. The accused was allegedly a known acquaintance of the girl. Following an investigation, police arrested Mancia-Sandoval and charged him with rape. 

His court date and bail information are not available. 

Armed Robbery

Police are on the lookout for a two suspects after a 53-year-old Woodbridge man told police he was robbed on Wednesday. 

The victim told police he was in the 1500 block of Maurice Drive when he had just gotten out of his vehicle. Two unknown men approached him, one displaying an electronic stun-type weapon and the other with a baseball bat. 

Allegedly, both men demanded money from the victim. Police said the men took an undisclosed amount of money, a GPS and prescription medication from the man before fleeing in a vehicle. No injuries were reported. 

The man with a stun-type weapon is described as a Hispanic male between 16 and 25-years-old, 5-foot-11, 160 pounds of thin build with black hair and a mustache. He was last seen wearing a black jacket.

The man with the baseball bat is described as a white male, between 16 and 25-years-old, 5-foot-8, 120 pounds of thin build. He was last seen wearing a blue jersey.

Attempted Armed Robbery

An 87-year-old Woodbridge man reported to police that a man tried to rob him while he was taking out the trash Wednesday.

Police responded to the 1700 block of Tilletson Place where the man said he was taking out the trash when an unknown man approached him, displayed a handgun and demanded money. The victim was holding an iron golf club at the time, which the suspect saw and fled on foot. No property or money was reported missing and no injuries were reported.

The man with the handgun is described as a black male, unknown age, 6-feet-tall, 160 pounds, thin build with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing all black and a black stocking cap with a black jacket with fur around the hood.
