Victim Identified in Triangle Trailer Fire Death Investigation

One of three victims who died in a trailer fire in Triangle on Oct. 8 has been identified, Prince William County Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said.

The victim was identified as Triangle resident Melvin Smitson, 61.

"The identities of the two remaining victims will be released once they are positively identified by the Medical Examiner's Office," Perok said. "At this point in the investigation, police and fire officials do not suspect foul play regarding the deaths of the victims."

The three victims were originally discovered inside the trailer after the fire had been put out. They were pronounced dead on the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
