74-Year-Old Woman Accused of Attacking Firefighter, Police Officer

Vienna Jean Brooks is accused of assaulting a Fire & Rescue crew member as he tried to respond during a domestic dispute, according to Prince William County Police.

A Woodbridge woman is accused of assaulting officers and rescue personnel who responded to a domestic dispute, according to Prince William County Police.

Vienna Jean Brooks, 74, of Maryland Avenue in Woodbridge, is charged with assault and battery on a law enforcement officer, assault and battery on rescue official, resisting arrest and obstruction of justice.

Brooks was not involved in the original dispute, which police responded to on Tuesday at 4:50 p.m. Members of the Fire and Rescue Department—who were already on scene at the time—reported that they had approached the home to assist someone allegedly injured during the incident. When they did, Brooks refused to let them enter the home.

"As one of the crew members was standing at the doorway, the accused kicked him and slammed the door against his shoulder. Officers made contact with the accused and also attempted to enter the residence to investigate the incident," Officer Jonathan Perok, a spokesman for the police department, said in a press release. "The accused continued to deny officers and rescue crews access to the home and, again, slammed the door, striking an officer to his shoulder."

At that point, officers arrested Brooks and let the rescue crews inside.
