Carjacking Victim Escapes From Gunman in Woodbridge

The suspect fled on foot, Prince William County Police said.

A Woodbridge man fled to a local business after a gunman tried to carjack his vehicle, Prince William County Police said. 

Police responded on Sunday at 10:13 p.m. to the 13100 block of Marina Way in Woodbridge to the victim's report of the carjacking, which occurred around 2 a.m. that day. The 29-year-old Woodbridge man was in his vehicle in that area when an unknown woman approached him, police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok said. 

"During the encounter, an unknown man got into the passenger side of the vehicle, displayed a handgun, and demanded the victim’s money and vehicle. The victim ran from the vehicle to a nearby business where police were called," Perok said in a press release.

The woman also ran away, while the suspect fled on foot. 

No one was injured and no property was taken, Perok said.

The suspect is described as 25-30 years old, black, 5’8”, 170 pounds, brown eyes, black hair and medium build. He was wearing a red baseball cap and a light colored t-shirt.
