Woodbridge Crime: Assault at Hotel, Gas Station Robbery

Assault and Battery at Best Western

Prince William County police have arrested a Mesa, AZ man following a disorderly incident at the hotel in Woodbridge.

Police responded to the hotel at 14619 Potomac Mills Road on May 19 for a disorderly call.

“Police made contact with a room occupied by several individuals, including the accused,” said police public information officer Jonathan Perok. “Officers informed the group that they had to leave, at which point, the accused refused and grabbed the officer’s arm. A struggle ensued and the suspect was eventually arrested.”

No injuries were reported but Steven Richard Henning, 51, faces charges of assault and battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest. He has a court date set for July 9 and is held on a $7,500 secured bond.

Wallet Stolen at BP Gas Station

A 79-year-old Stafford man reported to police that three unknown men took his wallet from him while he was getting into his vehicle at a gas station.

Police responded to the BP gas station—located at 17400 Jefferson Davis Highway—just after midnight on May 20. The victim sustained minor injuries as a result of the assault, Perok said.

Police are on the lookout for three black males all reported to be between 20 and 25-years-old, 5-feet-8-inchess tall, 200 pounds of heavy build. All were last seen wearing black long-sleeved shirts and black pants.

Stabbing Behind 7-Eleven

A 23-year-old Woodbridge man was flown to an area hospital over the weekend after he was stabbed in the arm behind a Woodbridge

Police said it is currently unknown how the victim sustained the stab wound but the incident appears to involve a known acquaintance of the victim.  The stabbing allegedly happened behind a 7-Eleven in the 13900 block of Jefferson Davis Highway. An investigation continues, police said.

Brandishing

A 22-year-old Woodbridge man has been charged with brandishing following a reported incident in the area of Telegraph Road and Opitz Boulevard on May 19. 

A 29-year-old Woodbridge man told police that he was driving in the area when a vehicle pulled up next to him occupied by the accused. The accused allegedly displayed a handgun and pointed it at the victim because of a past encounter. Following a police investigation, officers obtained a warrant against the accused, who was located and arrested on May 20.

The man faces a brandishing charge, his court date and bond information were unavailable at publication deadline.
