Woodbridge Crime: Woodbridge Man Charged for Malicious Wounding

Prince William County police arrested and charged 22-year-old Woodbridge man after he was wanted in a stabbing incident.

Police responded to the 14400 block of Lamar Road on March 9 at 9:38 p.m. where a 17-year-old Lorton male told police he and the accused, a known acquaintance were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated physically, police said.

During the fight, police reports said Lorton teen said Nathaniel Bernard Hines allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife and came towards him. Police reports said Hines caught up to the Lorton teen and attempted to stab him, causing him to fall to the ground. Once on the ground, police reports said Hines attempted to repeatedly stab the victim again.

The Lorton teen was stabbed once on his arm before getting away to contact police. Police said the stab wound was minor and was treated at the scene.

After the stabbing incident, Prince William County Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said that Hines returned to the residence was involved in another verbal altercation with the remaining people in the house.

Perok said Hines allegedly threw a brick at a vehicle belonging to a member of the residence as they were attempting to leave. The brick caused $500 in damage. 

Police received information that Hines was in Marumsco Plaza on March 15. Police located Hines near the McDonalds on Route 1 upon arrival. Perok said Hines attempted to flee on foot but police were able to detain him after a brief foot pursuit.

Hines faces a felony charge of malicious wounding as well as charges of throwing missiles [brick] at an occupied vehicle and destruction of property. Hines’ court date is unavailable, he is held without bond.
