Woodbridge Man Charged With Assault and Battery on Police Officer

Timothy Osborne was also charged with driving under the influence and resisting arrest.

Woodbridge resident Timothy Osborne was charged with assault and battery on a law enforcement officer after he allegedly struggled with an officer during arrest, leaving the officer injured, Prince William County police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said. 

Police originally stopped a vehicle in the 14300 block of Westway Lane in Dale City on July 17 at 5 a.m.

"After stopping the vehicle, the driver, later identified as the accused, fled on foot," Perok said. "The officer was able to catch up to the accused and a struggle ensued. Additional officers arrived and were able to detain the accused. The officer sustained minor injuries."

Osborne was charged with assault and battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, driving under the influence, refusing to submit to a breath test, and driving on a suspended license. Assault and battery on a law enforcement officer is a Class 6 felony, according to Virginia law.

His court date is unavailable. He is being held without bond.
