Woodbridge Man Charged With Attempted Malicious Wounding

The incident reportedly occurred near IKEA. The following arrest information was supplied by the Fairfax County police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A 34-year-old Woodbridge man was arrested Sunday and charged with attempted malicious wounding after he reportedly pulled out a knife and chased a 29-year-old Woodbridge man in the 14500 block of Telegraph Road, police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said.

The victim told police that he had had an argument with the accused, a stranger to him, and the argument became heated.

"During the encounter the accused displayed a knife and chased the victim in the above area," Perok said. "The accused did not make contact with the victim and hid the knife when police arrived. The knife was retrieved by police and the accused was subsequently arrested without incident."
