Woodbridge Man Charged With Slashing 7 Market Employee With Knife

The victim sustained minor injuries, according to Prince William County Police.

Police have charged Woodbridge resident Marvin Ayala Urrutia, 21, with malicious wounding and possession of a concealed weapon after a 7 Market employee reported that he had been injured, Prince William County Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said. 

Police initially responded on Sept. 13 at 11:44 p.m. to the 7 Market at 1551 Featherstone Road for a report of disorderly conduct. 

"An employee, a 38-year-old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that the accused entered the store and approached the counter," Perok said. "The employee and the accused became involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused displayed a knife and began slashing towards the victim. The victim was struck and sustained minor injuries."

Ayala Urrutia was detained by an officer. After an investigation, he was arrested. His court date is Oct. 16.
