Police have charged Woodbridge resident Justin Veney, 47, with malicious wounding and assault and battery after a 22-year-old Woodbridge man was reportedly stabbed in the hand and a 44-year-old Woodbridge woman was reportedly punched in the face, Prince William County police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said.
Police initially responded on Sept. 14 at 8:14 a.m. to the 14300 block of Bellona Road for a domestic incident.
"The victim, a 22-year-old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was involved in a verbal altercation with the accused, a known acquaintance, which escalated physically," Perok said. "During the encounter, the victim was knocked to the ground. The accused got on top of the victim, pulled out a knife and cut the victim to his hand."
After investigating, police found that the accused had reportedly also been arguing with the 44-year-old Woodbridge woman earlier that day.
"During that encounter, the accused punched the victim in her face causing her to fall," Perok said. "This assault prompted the 22 year old victim to confront the accused."
Both victims were injured, but their injuries were not life-threatening. Veney was arrested after the investigation. His court date and bond information is unavailable.
