Destini Swails was also charged with a hit and run, Prince William County Police said.

Police have charged a Dale City woman with a hit and run and filing a false police report after a Triangle woman's car was reportedly struck near Minnieville and Spriggs Road on Feb. 23, Prince William County Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said.

Destini Swails, 25, was arrested and charged Feb. 25. Police initially responded on Feb. 25 at 5:59 p.m. to investigate the reported hit and run.

"The victim, a 46-year-old woman of Triangle, reported to police that she was struck by a vehicle while making a left hand turn from Minnieville Rd onto Spriggs Road," Perok said. "After pulling over to exchange information, the victim observed the striking vehicle flee the area."

A witness gave officers a description of the vehicle.

"Officers made contact with the vehicle owner, the accused, who informed police that she was struck and that the other driver fled the area," Perok said. "It was eventually determined that the accused had lied to officers and was subsequently arrested."
