Woodbridge Woman Dies in Fatal Crash in Maryland

An early morning crash on Sunday left one 29-year-old woman dead, police reported.

A 29-year-old Woodbridge woman died in a car crash at Tech Road and Route 29 Sunday morning, Montgomery County Police are reporting.

Marisol Angela Gutierrez of Woodbridge, VA, was a passenger in a 2009 Hyundai Elantra traveling southbound on Route 29 around 4:36 a.m. when the car collided with a 2004 BMW 325i that was traveling westbound on Tech Road, according to the preliminary police report. At the intersection of Route 29 and Tech Road, the BMW had faced a flashing, red signal; the Hyundai faced a flashing, yellow signal.

Gutierrez, who was sitting in the right front passenger seat of the Hyundai, was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision.

Dorene Francine Ennels, 49, of Baltimore was identified as the driver of the BMW, according to the police report. She was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Hyundai, Ryan Michael Segretto, 26, of Bristow, VA, was also transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The circumstances surrounding this collision remain under investigation. Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed this fatal collision to contact the Montgomery County Police Collision Reconstruction Unit at 301-840-2435. Callers may remain anonymous.
