Congressman Jim Moran Endorses Dr. Babur Lateef for PWC Chairman

Chairman Corey Stewart's challenger gets an endorsement.

Prince William County Board of Supervisors Chair candidate Dr. Babur Lateef announced Monday he has received the endorsement of Congressman Jim Moran.

"Congressman Moran has been a strong advocate for Northern Virginia's families and businesses for decades," Dr. Lateef said in a press release. "I welcome his support of my campaign."

Dr. Lateef is seeking the Democratic nomination to replace current Chair Corey Stewart.

"I'm endorsing Dr. Lateef because he has his priorities straight," Moran said. "Put people first, put families first, put communities first. That's what makes a great leader, and that's what makes Dr. Lateef the best candidate for Chairman."

Dr. Lateef, an eye surgeon from Woodbridge, announced his candidacy in late January.

"Unemployment is up, class sizes are up and taxes are up, and Corey Stewart thinks he deserves a  promotion," Lateef said. "I have a new vision for our county, one that serves our families and our future."
