Dudenhefer: 'High Anticipation' at Republican National Convention

Del. Mark Dudenhefer checks in from Tampa, Fla. during the Republican National Convention.

Del. Mark Dudenhefer (R-2nd), who represents parts of Prince William and Stafford counties, checked in with Patch about how the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla., is going, despite the stormy weather. For more on the timeline of events tonight — including when Gov. Bob McDonnell and Ann Romney will speak—

Editor's Note: The following comes from Del. Dudenhefer. It is unedited.

"The Delegates from Virginia and across the United States arrived at the convention center a short time ago, where votes and the seating of various delegations are taking place. As members of the Republican Party, we have our vote and our rules to follow. This evening, we will unify and stand behind our nominee, Governor Romney.

I enjoy visiting a smaller venue, as it brings everyone close to the action, and creates an exciting energy that we might not normally see. The Virginia Delegation has great seating, and this week we will be on the front lines of the excitement.

I'm particularly looking forward to the speeches of Ann Romney and Governor Christie later this evening. The strength and character of Ann Romney as a wife and mother exemplifies the quality of the Republican nominee, Governor Romney. The room is filled with high anticipation for Governor Christie. His belief in family values, individual freedom, and limited constitutional government, will surely electrify the crowd."
