Election Guide: Primaries Later this Summer

Because of redistricting, primaries are moved to August.

Prince William County's local primary elections are normally held in June, but in order to accomodate the redistricting process this year primary elections have been moved to Aug. 23.

Patch will be posting a guide to elections over the next few weeks detailing the people running for office on local and state levels as well as what you need to know since redistricting has taken hold.

Locally, there are five offices up for election. Those primaries, held in August, will be for the eight board of county supervisors positions, eight school board positions, the Commonwealth's Attorney, sheriff, three soil and water director positions and Clerk of Court.
