Kaine Holds Economic Roundtable in Woodbridge

Former Governor and current U.S. Senate candidate visited Triangle and Woodbridge.

From Tim Kaine's campaign:

Wednesday, former Governor and U.S. Senate candidate Tim Kaine shared his economic vision in Prince William County with federal contractors and Latino community leaders.

While speaking with federal contractors at Group W in Triangle, Kaine expressed the need to level the playing field so small businesses can succeed and compete for federal contracts.

He outlined his balanced approach to deficit reduction, which seeks significant cuts while finding new revenues for targeted investments. Participants overwhelmingly agreed with this method.

"Budget cuts are not just about math," said Kaine. "They are about judgement. If you balance the budget solely through cuts you will hurt the economy, and Virginia's more than most."

The contractors also embraced Kaine's vision for a national talent economy to ensure the country's long term success in an increasingly competitive global economy.

At an economic roundtable with Latino leaders at Woodbridge's The Palace Bar & Grill, Kaine again outlined his vision for a national talent economy that develops the skills of our workforce while attracting the best and brightest from across the globe to contribute to the American economy.
