A tree at the 3800 block of Dalebrook Drive was uprooted and caused damage to two homes, according to Jason Grant communications director of Prince William County.
"One of the homes had the tree fall through the front door and is being classified as a “building collapse” by Fire & Rescue," said Grant via email. "No injuries occurred, but the residents have been displaced."
"Residents are reminded that the increased wind speeds and the saturated ground create significant risk of trees being uprooted and falling," Grant said.
Grant said "people are encouraged to remain indoors and away from trees as much as possible during the storm."
"In the morning, residents should assess any damage on their property and contact licensed professionals to remove any fallen trees or debris and schedule necessary repairs to the property," wrote Grant. "Downed power lines should avoided and reported immediately by contacting the Prince William County non-emergency line (703-792-6500)."
