What's Open, Closed in Prince William County on Martin Luther King Jr. Day

The MLK holiday will be observed Monday, Jan. 21. That day is also the second inauguration of President Barack Obama.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day is Sunday, Jan. 20, but the observed holiday is Monday, Jan. 21.

Monday is also the 57th Presidential Inauguration, so what’s opened and closed in the area varies a bit from normal holidays.

Federal offices, including the U.S. Postal Service, will be closed Monday.

Prince William County schools will be closed Monday.

County government offices will be closed Monday.

County courts will be closed Friday and Monday.

County libraries will be closed Monday. Neighborhood libraries will be closed Saturday and Monday.

The county landfill will be open Monday.
