High School Job Fair in Woodbridge

Want a job this summer? Come to Freedom High School to check out your options.

High school students who would like to work in the Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) summer-hire program should plan to attend one of two upcoming job fairs. The first will be held on Tuesday, March 29 at Freedom High School, 15201 Neabsco Mills Road in Woodbridge from 6–8 p.m.; and the second on Thursday, March 31 at Stonewall Jackson High School, 8820 Rixlew Lane in Manassas from 6–8 p.m. Other local employers will also participate in the job fairs to recruit individuals for summer-hire opportunities.

Applicants interested in the PWCS summer-hire program must be 16 years old or older as of June 15, 2011. It is mandatory that they attend one of the job fairs in order to be considered for employment. A committee of School Division personnel will meet with prospective student-employees to conduct interviews to help match them to the appropriate jobs. These candidates will then be recommended to the schools for placement in positions ranging from office assistant to teacher’s assistant. Office and Student Aide positions are generally three-week-long part-time positions which begin on July 5 and end July 22 (dates may very slightly depending on school). If selected for a position, students would typically be expected to begin employment in late June for the in-service training with employment ending in late July to early August. Students must complete an online application on the PWCS Human Resources Web page and bring a copy of the completed application, including the two completed references, with them when they interview at the job fair. Click on “Employment Opportunities,” then “Summer Employment.”
