Q&A With Gar-Field's New Assistant Principal

Rose Fraze, formerly a Language Arts teacher, now joins the school's administrative staff.

Rose Fraze, a former Language Arts teacher at Gar-Field Senior High School, is no stranger to the "Home of the Indians." After ten years as a teacher, Fraze now joins the administrative team at Gar-Field, an International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme school.

Q: What do you hope to accomplish in your new position?
A: "I truly hope to have a positive impact on a greater number of students," said Fraze.

Q: What is your favorite thing about teaching at Gar-Field?
"My favorite thing about teaching at Gar-Field is the students specifically and our community as a whole," said Fraze. "The students' ability and desire to learn is boundless; in addition, they amaze and achieve in many areas beyond the classroom." Fraze also highlights Gar-Field's unique sense of belonging, support and encouragement as integral to the school's success.

Q: Any big happenings occurring at the school this year?
"We are focused on two themes this year: student goal-setting and parent involvement," said Fraze.  "We have added a student leadership class and we are the first high school in the school division to add Arabic as a World Language course offering."
