Summer break will, ironically, be pushed back to the first day of summer, under a proposal by Prince William County Schools administrators to make up for the big pile of snow days this winter.

Last month, the school board voted to take back a teacher workday, cut five minutes off recess and extend the end of the school year to June 18.

With this week's two days off and a two-hour delay Wednesday, that lost time will likely be made up with school days June 19 and June 20. The proposal by Superintendent Steven Walts will be considered by the school board during its meeting March 19.

How do you think the district should address lost school days this winter? Tell us in the comments below!

Take days off or cancel spring break, The kids have had plenty of break. I realize this idea probably makes too much sense and common sense doesn't enter into the equation. For those planning to take a trip, get over it, Stuff Happens!!!

How about Saturdays?

Adding time to the end of the school year, after SOL's, is pointless. The kids need learning time to prep for the SOL's. Make the day longer, take away Easter Monday, whatever is needed to make up time before testing.
