Woodbridge Band Earns "Grand Champion" Competition Title

Woodbridge's Mighty Viking Marching Band wins Grand Champion award in latest competition.

Congratulations to the Mighty Viking Marching Band for their clean sweep victory in the Battle Royale marching band competition, Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at Battlefield High School.

Woodbridge High School's "Mighty Viking Marching Band" won first place in music, marching, general effect, color guard, percussion, and drum major. They competed in the AAAA Division against bands twice their size, sweeping the awards category. They also won the event's "Grand Champion" award, outscoring 15 other bands who competed that day.

The band will next compete at James Madison University's marching band competition in Harrisonburg, Va.  However, you can catch the band marching in Woodbridge's homecoming parade on Friday, Oct. 12, at 4 p.m. You can also see their award-winning show at the conclusion of Friday's homecoming football game.
