Local Optimist Club Holds Inaugural Vintage Baseball Tournament

by Occoquan Mayor Earnie Porta

Mark your calendars for the inaugural Occoquan-Woodbridge-Neabsco (O.W.N) Optimist Club's vintage baseball tournament.  Watch three teams from the Mid-Atlantic Vintage Baseball League square off against a group of local players in a 4-team competition for the 2013 O.W.N. Trophy.  Vintage baseball uses 1860s rules and uniforms (e.g. there are no gloves).

The tournament will take place on Sunday, September 15, starting at 11 a.m. at the P-Nats stadium. Tickets are $12 for adults with children 12 and younger free, and may be purchased online by clicking here.  For every adult ticket purchased before July 12, the purchaser will receive a free ticket to the July 19 P-Nats game against the Lynchburg Hillcats.
