Olympic Watch: Virginia Swimmers Eye Spots

U. S. Olympic Swim Trials get underway in Omaha this week. Who will be there from Northern Virginia?

Thirteen swimmers from Northern Virginia's Curl-Burke Swim Club will compete at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in Omaha beginning Monday.

Curl-Burke swimmers Ellyn Baumgardner, Brittany Boone, Megan Byrnes, Meredith Cavalier, James Crabb, Ian Decker, Emily Ferguson, Zach Hayden, Janet Hu, Chuck Katis, Katie Ledecky, Hellen Moffit, Joe Pascale, Kaitlin Pawlowicz, Brad Phillips, Andrew Seliskar, Nick Tremols, Kyle Tyrrell, and Jenny Wilson all train in Northern Virginia and are vying for spots on the team at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London next month.

Hoping for a return trip to the Olympics is Great Falls' Kate Ziegler

Ziegler will be competing in Omaha in the 200- 400- and 800-meter freestyle. She swam on the 2008 team in Beijing in the 400 and 800, but did not medal.
