Potomac Nationals Defeat Winston-Salem Dash; Moore Makes History

The second game of a three-game series against Winston-Salem Dash

Bouncing back from their "crazy eighth inning" loss against the Winston-Salem Dash last night, the Potomac Nationals conquered the Dash, 9-2, this evening at Pfitzner Stadium.

Despite wind and a threat of rain, the team had a stellar performance.

Star first basemen Tyler Moore has accrued over 102 RBIs this season which has landed him in the fifth highest RBI position league-wide.

Moore added more star power to the team with the addition of his 28th home run in tonight's game, which subsequently tied the Carolina League record.

The P-Nats scored three runs in the first inning, thanks to Derek Norris, Sean Nicol, Tyler Moore and Sean Rooney.

Winston-Salem Dash scored two runs in the first inning but had no such luck for the remainder of the game.

In the third inning, Norris, Moore and center fielder Nicholas Moresi scored. Norris brought in another run in the fourth inning as well.

Moore scored his record-tying 28th home run in the bottom of the seventh inning and Norris scored again.

The two teams will face off again tomorrow at Pfitzner Stadium for the third of three games at 1:05 p.m.
