Washington Nationals' Adam LaRoche Starting With P-Nats
First baseman is recovering from a strained right quadricep, according to Potomac Nationals.
The Washington Nationals' first baseman Adam LaRoche is expected to play with the Potomac Nationals on Thursday night at Pfitzner Stadium. It's the finale for the P-Nats in a series with the Lynchrug Hillcats.
LaRoche, 34, was placed on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday with a strained right quadriceps muscle. So far in 2014, LaRoche has swung to a .319 batting clip and a .421 on-base percentage in 32 games while scoring 18 runs and stashing six doubles, five deep flies, 21 RBIs, and 20 walks, according to a release. He has 217 lifetime homers and 746 RBIs.
LaRoche received a 2012 National League Silver Slugger Award, awarded to a National League first baseman with the "most prolific offensive pop," according to the P-Nats release.
