Stonebridge at Potomac Town Center is hosting PetOberfest on Oct. 19 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. The event includes a pet parade, pet contests, children's entertainment, prizes, exhibitors and more. Free. All pets must be on leashes.

Shred your old documents at the free Prince William Community Shredding Event. Go to the county landfill at 14811 Dumfries Road in Manassas on Oct. 19 at 10 a.m. Limit of four boxes.

The Zombie Slouch 5K Run and Walk returns to Centreville for its second year. Raise money for children and families affected by cancer. Gather at St. John's Church in Centreville on Oct. 19 at 8 a.m.

Raise money for the homeless with the Good Shepherd Housing Foundation Walk/Run for the Homeless on Oct. 20 at 1 p.m. at Pfitzner Stadium at 7 County Complex Court in Woodbridge. Register for $20 or sponsor another walker or runner.

End Alzheimer’s. The 2013 Walk to End Alzheimer’s course includes a 1-mile and 3-mile route around Old Town Manassas. The event benefits the Alzheimer’s Association. Registration details. 8:30 a.m. Saturday. Harris Pavilion, 9201 Center Street.

Lush Latin Music. The Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra returns to the Hylton Performing Arts Center this weekend for “Latin Nights,” promising "sizzling sounds of Latin jazz.” From $28. 8 p.m. Saturday. Merchant Hall, Hylton Performing Arts Center, 10960 George Mason Circle, Manassas.

Monsters (Local) University. George Mason University will be hosting a special Family Film and Fun Night this weekend, with free food, activities and a screening of “Monsters University” at the Prince William campus. Fun begins at 4:30 p.m. The movie screens at 6 p.m. Friday. Verizon Auditorium, University Blvd., Manassas.

Prince William Ice Center holds an open skate from 12:10 p.m. to 2:10 p.m. on Saturdays.
