Teens from Sea Scouts BSA Ship 100 of Bristow swab the deck of "Moonshadow" before taking her out for a sail on Saturday. The Catalina 22 belongs to Woodbridge Sailing School (WSS), which operates out of Leesylvania State Park. This video is an excerpt from several performances by Derrick Nowlin of DerrickNow.com & Derricknow.info. Derrick is a local Martial Arts & Fitness Expert who grew up in Alexandria and attended T.C. Williams high school. Derrick has performed his martial arts and unique physical talents all over the US. He has acted in feature films & tv shows as well as been hired to choreograph fight scenes for film. Derrick's love of Martial Arts began when he was 8 years old. His struggles started at a young age when he was so small and so sick as a child that he was told he would never be able to do much and that he would be sick for most of his life, which was (in Derrick's mind) not his reality. He struggled through and fought many health battles until he became strong. Derrick formed a very popular local group at TC Williams in the 80's called "Momentum", which was a Demo Martial Arts team that performed and did many fundraisers in the community among other exciting things. Derrick moved out to LA and began acting in the 90's. He has also appeared on shows like MTV and other shows demonstrating his unique abilities. Derrick's has just self-published his first ebook entitled "No Matter What!", which is a compilation of motivational poetry & short stories that depict his journey and the trials and struggles that he overcame because of his mental focus and determination.
