Injuries described as non-life-threatening at fire in office park. Two taken to hospital, one taken to burn center.
Firefighters were called out to a Lorton business park at 10440 Furnace Road for a fire reported at about 11 a.m. today, according to Fairfax County Fire and Rescue. Three reportedly suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the fire, said Dan Schmidt, spokesman for the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department. The injuries were minor. Two were sent to the hospital and one person was sent to a burn unit. The fire was reported after an air-handling system malfunctioned in the building, fire officials said. “The sprinklers in the building activated and we responded to make sure the fire was out,” Schmidt said. Prince William County Police have charged a Woodbridge man with solicitation to commit capital murder. An investigation by the Homicide Unit of Prince William County Police Department and the ATF Northern Virginia Violent Crimes Task Force revealed that a murder-for-hire was allegedly arranged in the 15800 block of Donald Curtis Drive in Woodbridge. Police are looking for two men that allegedly burglarized the Dale City ABC Store in the early hours of May 13. Prince William County Police responded to the ABC store at 4255 Chesire Station Plz. At 2:23 a.m. for an alarm. Police have obtained warrants for the man.
Prince William County police are looking for a 36-year-old Maryland man who allegedly threatened to burn down a house. A 28-year-old Woodbridge woman reported to police on May 11 that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were in an ongoing domestic incident. On May 11, the victim allegedly received text messages from the Maryland man implying that he would burn her house down in the 16600 block of Georgetown Road in Woodbridge. Police reports said the man has been seen several times around the residence and at one point threw rocks at her residence and broke a mirror on the vehicle. Prince William County Police have arrested a 15-year-old Woodbridge teen and charged him with threats to bomb after graffiti was found at Hylton High School. PWC Police public information officer Jonathan Perok said that school authorities informed police of graffiti found in the boys’ restroom on May 11. “The graffiti implied there was a bomb in the school,” said Perok in a release. “Following an investigation, police were able to learn who was responsible for writing the threat in the bathroom. A vehicle crashed into a home on Cotton Mill Drive Thursday night, causing $50,000 in damages. Rebecca Barnes, Occoquan-Woodbridge-Lorton Volunteer Fire Department Public Relations Specialist, said in a release that unites from three area fire and rescue squads responded to 11972 Cotton Mill Drive at 12:42 a.m. Friday morning. Teen made arrangements through social media to buy shoes.
A 15-year-old Woodbridge boy’s cell phone and money were allegedly stolen from him May 9 after he made arrangements through social media to buy shoes at the Dale City Recreation Center. The teen told police he made arrangements to meet the unknown man for an in-person purchase. Police reports said the man arrived in a vehicle and while the teen was speaking to the man, three other unknown males emerged from a vehicle.
