Cinderella's Closet: Where Dreams Come True

The House, Inc., gave away hundreds of dresses, tuxes and accessories to children with disabilities or life-threatening illnesses this past weekend to prepare them for their annual A Cinderella Ball.

The curtains opened and the whole room erupted in applause as she walked down the red carpet, leaning against the arm of a tall, charming young man in a suit and tie. He took her to the end of the carpet and spun her around, showing off her golden prom dress and huge smile. She was half his height and her infatuating smile, shining eyes, hesitant shuffle and tilt of the head as she waved to her audience betrayed the fact that she had a disability. All the children in the room trying on dresses and tuxes had a disability or life-threatening illness. Yet there was nothing but beaming smiles and an overpowering sense of excitement. Azalea Charities Donates $3,000 to 'Cinderella Ball'

Local charity donates money to Woodbridge-area charity to fund a prom for those who face physical, emotional or intellectual challengers or terminal illness.

From Azalea Charities:  Going to the prom is a big event in the life of any teenager, and every youth should have a chance for that experience.  Azalea Charities, as part of their support of local community charities, presented a check for $3,000 to The House, Inc. to help fund "A Cinderella Ball," an event for students in Prince William County who face physical, emotional, or intellectual challenges or terminal illness. The seventh annual "A Cinderella Ball" will take place on Sunday, June 3, 2012 at the historic Willard Hotel in Washington, D.C., and includes a dinner, concert and Ball. The House, Inc., a Woodbridge-based organization that gives direction to students to help them with their future lives, sponsors this annual event.   …
