InsideNova: Kilby Principal Bought Electronics on School Credit Card

A search warrant details embezzlement charges for a Woodbridge elementary school principal.

According to InsideNova.com, a search warrant detailing the embezzlement charge on a local principal reveals thousands charged to school credit cards, financial troubles and personal gifts. Jenny Georgina Enriquez-De Bermant, principal at Dean Kilby Elementary School in Woodbridge, was charged by Prince William County Police on May 3 following a police investigation and an audit by Prince William County Schools. InsideNova.com repors that Bermant allegedly bought household goods and electronics for herself and her family as gifts. Many of the items were found at her house in Dumfries. Update, 9:46 p.m.: Prince William County Schools has released a statement on Kilby Elementary School principal Jenny Bermant's embezzlement charge: The arrest of Jenny Bermant is distressing to the school community, but regrettably consistent with the findings of the School Division investigation that resulted in her placement on administrative leave, and her replacement with a new acting principal of Kilby Elementary School. Distressing as the embezzlement allegations are, they reaffirm that Prince William County Public Schools checks and balances are working to ensure that all Division funds are spent to advance education. Police Investigation Underway Concerning Kilby Elementary School Principal

School announced a retired PWCS principal would be coming back.

Kilby Elementary School principal Jenny Bermant has been placed on administrative leave and is under police investigation, the school announced Monday.  In a statement posted on the school's website, Bermant was placed on leave following an investigation by the Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) internal auditor and Risk Management and Security personnel.
