Babur Lateef's Television Ad Striking Out

Prince William County School Board Chairman Milton Johns said Babur Lateef's new television ad that attacks incumbent Corey Stewart uses old data that is taken out of context and wrongly insinuates that supervisors have control over class sizes.

Babur Lateef's new television ad may be flashy and creative but Prince William County School Board Chairman Milton Johns says it's out of context and misleads voters. The ad, which Lateef has asked supporters to help fund so it can run until Election Day, accuses incumbent Corey Stewart of ignoring local issues while accepting $37,500 from the minor league baseball team Potomac Nationals, which plays at a Woodbridge stadium. The ad's setting is a baseball game and criticizes Stewart for numerous things, including turning down $17 million in federal funding and 40-percent increases in class sizes—a claim that concerns Johns. John Gray Says He Will Address Foreclosure Crisis in Prince William County

John Gray is the independent candidate for Prince William Board of County Supervisors. He faces incumbent Corey Stewart and Democrat Babur Lateef on Nov. 8. Gray says foreclosures are the county's top problem.

They have four adult children who graduated from Woodbridge High School and all went on to graduate from Virginia universities. He served in the Marine Corps from 1969-1973 before he was honorable discharged at the rank of sergeant. He has been a certified public accountant since 1981. Lateef Campaign Responds, But Doesn't Address Allegations

Campaign of Babur Lateef, the Democratic challenger for Prince William County chairman, says it won't comment on "Republican blog chatter."

The campaign for Babur Lateef, the Democratic challenger for Prince William County chairman, responded to allegations Lateef is under investigation over the foreclosure of his home last year, but failed to confirm or deny any of the allegations. Longtime Prince William County Commonwealth's Attorney Paul Ebert also hasn't returned phone calls about whether he received a complaint about Lateef. Lateef and Ebert are both Democrats. Michael McLaughlin, Lateef's campaign manager, sent an email Thursday night, more than 35 hours after the first of numerous emails and messages were left for both McLaughlin and Lateef.  "The campaign does not comment on Republican blog chatter.
