Citizen Helps Nab SunTrust Bank Robbery Suspect

An alleged bank robber is sitting in the county jail after an eagle-eyed citizen spotted his picture on a CrimeSolvers bulletin and called the authorities, Prince William County Police said.  The citizen told police on Dec. 12 they saw a man matching the suspect's description at the Roadway Inn on Jefferson Davis Highway in Woodbridge. Officers detained Kevin James Mincey, 46, of no fixed address, and later charged him with armed robbery, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.  "Detectives from the Robbery Unit were able to connect the accused to the robbery," Officer Jonathan Perok, a spokesman for the police department, said in a press release.  Mincey's court date was set for Jan. 23…

Police Search for Man Who Robbed SunTrust Bank

The man stole an undisclosed amount of money on Tuesday afternoon.

Prince William County Police are searching for a man who reportedly robbed the SunTrust bank in Woodbridge.  The unknown man entered the bank on Jefferson Davis Highway shortly before 5 p.m. on Tuesday, implied he had a weapon and demanded money, police said. The man grabbed an undisclosed amount of money and fled on foot towards the VRE station. No one saw a weapon at any point.  Officers called out a K-9 and established a perimeter around the bank. They did not locate the suspect.  No one reported any injuries.  The man was described as about 40-50 years old, black, brown eyes, about 6 feet tall, 185 pounds, with a thin build. He had a goatee and was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, sneakers and blue jeans.
