Kathy Strauss

About Kathy

Designer, photographer, creative coach, artist, teacher, & community volunteer – each of these describes Kathy Strauss. She owns an award winning creative studio, ImageWerks, located in Woodbridge, VA. With over 30 years of design experience, including working as a designer and Art Director for World Bank and USAID, she brings expertise in design, photography, project management and creative solutions for worldwide regions. Currently, as the owner of ImageWerks, she is responsible for providing fresh and effective ideas to businesses and in-house communications departments. Projects include: branding & marketing, print design, photography (directed photo shoots, events, project documentation, fine art), illustration, web design, creative consultations, and trade show displays. Her creative coaching program is an interactive/creative exercise program that helps individuals through interactive sessions to understand the importance of creative vision & perspective and how to bring it into their lives, as well as bringing creative thinking into the workplace. Her programs are for students, educators, corporate & non-profits, seniors and military.

In addition to her business, Kathy is a member of the Workhouse Associate Artists (WAA) at the Workhouse Art Center in Lorton, VA where she exhibits her work and is a course instructor through the Workhouse Institute & ArtStar camps. She is the current president of WAA. In addition to the Workhouse, she shows her work at art festivals and other galleries throughout the Washington Metropolitan area and mid-Atlantic. She earned her BS in Advertising Design from the University of Maryland/College Park. Kathy is also a committed ‘volunteeralcoholic’, sitting on the board of directors for Project Mend-A-House, the Prince William Library Foundation, sitting on the Development & Interpretation Committee for the Turning Point Suffragist Memorial project, lending her creative hand to the American Red Cross, as well as the Prince William Chamber of Commerce. She is a graduate of Leadership Prince William, Class 2010.
