I grew up mainly in Alabama, but my father was in the Army, so I lives a good chunk of my childhood in different locations in America, and also three years in France in the mid-fifties. I attended Auburn University, with my sights on a career as an Industrial Designer. Like most teenage boys, I wanted to design cars for a living. Auburn failed to mention artistic abilities as a prerequisite, and they then failed to recognize my new double major, blondes and beer. That led to my actual career in the U.S. Navy. The Navy was great for me. I reached the North Pole, the South Pole and many places in between. I met my wife of 40 years and counting, and have two sons, two daughters in law, and a four year old grandson all of whom I am immensely proud! I'm now retired from the US Navy and enjoy writing, cooking and woodworking when the temperatures are above sixty degrees.
