Staci George, Neighbor

Staci George has been pursuing journalism since she joined the student newspaper in 6^th grade. In addition to 11 years of student journalism, she has interned at <i>USA Today</i> in McLean, VA and WJZ-13 in Baltimore, MD; covered the fire/police beat for <i>Gettysburg Times</i> in Adams County, PA; covered the business beat for the <i>Maryland Gazette</i> in Anne Arundel County, MD; and freelanced for the <i>Carroll County Times</i>, Westminster, MD. By day, she is a full-time communications specialist in Arlington for a government agency, and a roving reporter covering her Woodbridge community on nights and weekends.

She purchased a home in the Dale City section of Woodbridge in spring 2009, and her vegetable garden and flower beds have kept her busy this year. She loves planning events, including reunions for her three alma maters (Pleasant Valley High School, McDaniel College, and Georgetown University) and holiday gatherings for family and friends.  She grew up near the Poconos Mountains of Pennsylvania, and learned to ski in third grade. In March 2011, she will celebrate her 30^th birthday on St. Patrick&#39;s Day during a trip with her aunt to various parts of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
