Deal between two booksellers concerning 30 stores has fallen through.

Borders' last shot at staying open in the Woodbridge area has been nixed.

The Washington Business Journal reported Tuesday morning that the deal between the now-liquidating and concerning 30 Borders stores has collapsed due to negotiations.

According to a release from Books-A-Million, Clyde B. Anderson, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President said, “we worked exhaustively in an effort to acquire these stores and reach agreements with all of the parties whose consent was necessary. Unfortunately, we were unsuccessful.”
